RETRIEVE A PIC FROM IMESSAGE

I apologize if this question has already been answered, I am trying to retrieve a pic from a conversation I have saved on iMessage.

I never delete my conversation I have on my Mac through iMessage, so the conversation the picture was sent in is still accessible. I can scroll through, find when the pic was sent, but when I click on the IMG icon, it no longer allows me to access the picture?

Any information on how to retrieve this photo would be greatly appreciated!

Sincerely,

Massimo

Thank you for the quick response.

The image itself is no longer there however; the conversation is, and the word bubble containing the image information is there, ie. IMG_4857, however when I click on it nothing happens? There is the "i" icon next to the image information, but when I click on that it directs me to my File Transfers, which does not contain the picture I am looking for.

Thank you,

Massimo

Hi,

In the Finder use the Go Menu whilst holding down the ALT key and then select the Library that appears.

In the Library navigate to Messages/Attachments.

Manually search this folder (it will be long winded).

You may use the Modified column if you use Cover Flow (See View Menu > Show View options) which may enable you to tie the moment down to a date.
